Oklahoma City and new Teacher

We have a new teacher at VDS! Miss Jennifer has had to resign due to pregnancy complications and Miss Rachel Bouza is stepping in to take over her classes. Miss Rachel is a sophmore at Bethany College, and a member of the dance team.

Starfeet and I are off to Oklahoma City for our 1st competition of the season! We looked pretty good at Drury Place so I'm confident all will dance well on the big stage at Rose State College.

Jan 2008

Our studio after 7 inches of snow. Took Sid, Lisette and I 2 hours to shovel that parking lot with 2 shovels and a snow blower!

New winter/spring term classes are starting 3rd week of Jan.


Competition kids are getting excited about our 1st competition of this season.


We will be performing our Holiday dances and our Starfeet dances at Drury Place on Jan. 12th.

Fall Registration

I've mail all the registration forms out to previously enrolled students and to those on the mailing list. I'm noticing some trends in the requests, with lots of people requesting the same time slot, so if it's important to you to be in a particular time slot....MAIL IN YOUR FORM! First recieved gets the space.

I'm having fun choreographing our new songs! I'm sure you'll like them too.

Summer classes begin with Monday's Princess and the Pea Monday Funday class. Reg classes begin on Tues. Looking forward to it! See you all soon

Let's Try this again...

Okay, so it's a great idea to have a studio blog, but you actually have to have time to write it...which I haven't since I decided to start it. I'm going to try to be better at this!

Studio news:
1) Dancers for Cancer raised $2500.00 for the Tammy Walker Cancer Center
2) 1st day of photo's went well, 2nd day had to be cancelled due to storms, flooding etc. Rescheduled for Friday May 11th 5:30pm-9pm.
3) Show at Drury Place on Sat May 12th at 4pm.
4) Jr's and Sr's rehearse at 7pm at Central on May 21st
5) All other dancers rehearse Friday May 25
6) Recital is Sat May 26th at 1pm and 4pm.

December 16th we performed at Bethany College's Half-time with Jr Star's "Hero" and Claire performing "Bop to the Top". The audience loved both dances!

Good news and Bad

Good news! Adult student Cindy Cox tells me that their case has gone through the courts successfully and she and her husband are officially the parents of triplet boys! They leave for Eithiopia on the 15th to pick them up! Congrats x three! If anyone wants to contribute diapers bring them to the studio and we'll get them to her.


Bad News: Our Miss Taylor must leave us for a while as her fiance has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and she must move to Nevada to care for him through surgeries. Apprentice teacher Miss Diedre will take over her classes under my direction. Our prayers and wishes are with Miss Taylor and her fiance for a successful recovery.







Thanks to MidAmerica Awards my van now sports our studio logo. Sharp looking, isn't it!

Sun Nov 5

Okay, so I'm not doing much with this blog yet, but I intend to....right after I'm back on both feet!

Today's Nutcracker rehearsals are cancelled as I simply am not up to it yet. My leg is still wrapped up like a mummy, and every little bump hurts like crazy. But, this morning I was able to move around enough to make my own oatmeal and tea, take a spongebath and get to the computer. I can rest it on the ground for seconds with out pain, so I think when the wrap comes off tomorrow, I'll make great progress every day.

Uncle Jerry's Fundraiser due in by 5pm tonight! Miss Jackie and I will be there at 3:30.

New Blog!
