Getting closer

Opening day is getting closer and closer. I've been choreographing fun dances for us all and working on our across the floor passes in jazz, lots of new stuff to learn.

2 more weeks!

Only 2 more weeks until the studio opens again for our 34th season! Yesterday I choreographed a fun dance to "Fabulous" for our beginner dancers, and I can't wait to start teaching my MiniStars and RisingStars their new dances!

Painting the studio

We had a good time painting Studio A. Starting masking at 9:00, finished cleaning tools and eating lunch at 1:00...record time! The Studio looks so nice and fresh! Floor has a little paint on it, but tap shoes should take care of that!

Last week of summer classes!

This is the last week of summer classes. We have had a lot of fun this summer! We've learned some new dances and improved our technique. New pointe shoes are being broken in each week in our summer pre-pointe/pointe class. Exciting!

I'll be painting studio A on Monday, Aug. 4th. I plan to get started around 9am. Any help is appreciated during the day. The studio will be open by appointment during August, so please call to see if I'm there before driving over.

Dancewear sales are Saturday, August 9, 23 and 30 from 1pm-5pm. Please try to come in during these times to order shoes so that the 1st week of classes are devoted to dancing not shoe buying.

Photo's

Photo's are in, emails have been sent out, still have quite a few photo's and trophies to be picked up. Summer hours are Mon & Wed 4pm-7pm, Tue and Thur 4pm-9pm

Fire dancing

I saw lots of our dancers at the Festival. I forgot to take my camera home from studio or I'd post pictures.

I loved the firedancers! They were so graceful and made the fire seem an extenstion of their bodies. If you didn't stay until 9:45 Friday and Saturday, you missed a real treat!

Recital update

Recital was fantastic! All the dancers had a great time, showed off their dances and the audience seemed to love both shows. Above are backstage photo's of the Thur P1 dancers in "Clouds" and the Monday P2 dancers in "Noches de San Miquel". On Wed, May 29th, we had a party from 5:00-7:00 at the studio, dancers watched the DVD of the 1:00 and part of the 4:00 recital, enjoyed some refreshments and picked up their trophies. We will send out postcards when the photo's are in.

Summer classes begin June 2nd.

Last week!

I can't believe it's the last week of 2007-8, and that recital is only 7 days away. What a year!

New office staff, new teachers, Nutcracker, 4 competitions, Dancers for Cancer ($4000 raised!). It's been hectic but great!

Oklahoma City and new Teacher

We have a new teacher at VDS! Miss Jennifer has had to resign due to pregnancy complications and Miss Rachel Bouza is stepping in to take over her classes. Miss Rachel is a sophmore at Bethany College, and a member of the dance team.

Starfeet and I are off to Oklahoma City for our 1st competition of the season! We looked pretty good at Drury Place so I'm confident all will dance well on the big stage at Rose State College.

Jan 2008

Our studio after 7 inches of snow. Took Sid, Lisette and I 2 hours to shovel that parking lot with 2 shovels and a snow blower!

All costumes have been ordered for our spring recital.


New winter/spring term classes are starting 3rd week of Jan.


Competition kids are getting excited about our 1st competition of this season.


We will be performing our Holiday dances and our Starfeet dances at Drury Place on Jan. 12th.
